BBC1 controller wants more Who
by Doc on Aug.29, 2003, under Television
It appears that Lorraine Heggessey, the current controller at BBC1, wants to bring Doctor Who back. The roadblock right now according to her is a “complicated” rights issue (perhaps Fox still has a stake in it?), although the article goes on to say that the only known issue is that some of the writers, like the late Terry Nation, owned rights to certain characters, like Nation’s Daleks, which I’m sure would be a must.

Starts next week in Oz
The ABC (Public owned Television) in Oz is going to show every episode starting next week.
It was reported in the local papers here that the ABC in Oz has the most complete collection of episodes because supposable, the BBC had discarded some of the older episodes years ago for several reasons such as when the video tape formats changed over the years, nobody could be bothered copying the tapes so they were just thrown out.
