Brief review of Shrek 2

This ls late, since I did get to see it on opening weekend. If you are one of the three people who haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? This is one of the few cases where a sequel can actually be as good as the original…
Shrek was an excellent film, with its poking fun at he grat Disney fairytale empire, humor for adults and kids, excellent animation, etc. Shrek 2 provides more, expanding to poke fun at Hollywood itself, along wit a number of non-fairytale references thrown in – scenes mimicking or outright duplicating Aliens, Terminator 2, and Flashdance, to name a few. Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous), does a great rendition of “Holding Out For A Hero” as the Fairy Godmother.
Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I’ll put up a better review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while it is more fresh in my mind.
