Frequently Asked Questions

How can I support Sci-Fi Storm?
Other than reading the articles, posting your (hopefully well thought out and approriate) comments (which shows us you are actually reading this stuff) and spreading the word about us, you can also help support us monetarily by shopping for your favorite Sci-Fi merchandise (and anything else really) via the links and ads on the site (and sometimes in the articles). We are an Amazon.com associate. If you follow the links we provide, anything you order in that session will be credited to us and we get a commission. Note that this does NOT affect the price you pay, so if you were going to buy it anyways, you might as well help us out.. :^)

In addition, the various Sci-Fi Storm Stores are link pages to various related merchandise from Amazon.com. Other stores may appear soon.

How can I read Sci-Fi Storm with AvantGo?
If you are going to use both a regular web browser and AvantGo, create a separate account for AvantGo. Configure your Preferences for "Light" and "Deactivate Slashboxes" (the latter is optional, but it can get complex). Then set up an AvantGo channel as normal. Set the link depth to "1" to get the full stories, or "0" for just the headlines.

The first time you connect, you will get the full web page. Scroll down to the login box, and enter the username and password you created for your AvantGo version of Sci-Fi Storm. The next time you sync, the cookies will be properly set and you will get a slimmed-down version of Sci-Fi Storm.

Why can't I reach this site frequently?
When you get your connectivity for free, you can't make too many demands on the service. Since Sci-Fi Storm doesn't generate revenue (yet... :^), I can't afford to pay for a decent link that I CAN complain about. Hopefully that will change some day.

How can I include Sci-Fi Storm headlines on my site?
We use the de-facto standard RDF file to distribute headlines. Get http://scifistorm.org/scifistorm.rdf

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.
