Battlestar Galactica coming back???

Test Pattern is saying that Variety broke a story early this morning that Brian Singer (X-Men) has signed up to exec produce a new Battlestar Galactica TV series for Studios USA. The interesting part is both series creator Gary Larson and star Richard Hatch have been trying to put forth their respective versions of a new show for a couple of years, and no mention is made as to which version, if either, this will be…

Hitchhiker’s Guide finally to take off?

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that in an SEC filing, Spyglass Entertainment Group has confirmed plans to make Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in a deal with Buena Vista. Jay Roach (Meet the Parents) would direct, with Douglas Adams keeping the writing duties.
X-Files to go for number 9?

Sci-Fi Wire is reporting that Chris Carter stated that The X-Files could go on for a ninth year, assuming all the details can be straightened out. David Duchovny is already returning for the finale to this season, which could be the series finale if things don’t work out…
Naval Academy honors Heinlein

The U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis is honoring famed SF writer Robert A. Heinlein (Starship Troopers) by naming a Chair of Aerospace Engineering after him. Heinlein graduated from the academy in 1929.
