Could Roddenberry’s Genesis II make it on third try?
by Doc on Feb.12, 2001, under Television
Gene Roddenberry’s Genesis II TV movie, about a scientist in cryogenic suspension awakening over 150 years later and finds the world is now primitive after a cataclysmic war and starred Alex Cord, was a pilot for a series – it didn’t make it. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the BBC and A&E are jointly developing a 3-hour TV movie of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, using a combination of animatronics and CGI. It will probably be shown stateside in the latter half of 2002 – this time the Brits will get it first…Isn’t there a syndicated series already?
Director’s Edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture
by Doc on Feb.09, 2001, under Movies
I thought I had already posted about this, but couldn’t find it. Seems a lot of people – including the director, Robert Wise – thought the original film was, well, boring. It didn’t have the feel of the series. Wise aims to change that on a new DVD coming out…
