The Museum of Television & Radio in Los Angeles is proud to present a seminar entitled "From The Outer Limits to Roswell: Writing the Fantastic for Television on Monday, March 26 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.. This seminar will examine writing fantastical series for television. The panel will discuss changes in the genre over the last five decades, as well as the practical business of adapting cosmic visions to the small screen. The seminar will also address the challenges of defining this elusive genre, which, by the very nature of its imaginative mandate, includes such varied examples as the unsettling visions and moral authority of The Twilight Zone, the optimism and excitement of Star Trek and Babylon 5, the paranoia and dystopian forebodings of The X-Files and Max Headroom, and the emotional complexity and self-awareness of Roswell.
