Michael Shanks not returning to SG-1??

by on Sep.27, 2001, under Television

This is all second hand, but in tracing back a thread on alt.tv.stargate-sg1 (“Losing SG1 cast member?”), apparently Brad Wright, the producer of Stargate SG-1 announced at GateCon that Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson) would not be returning to the show when the 6th season begins on the Sci Fi Channel. I know he expressed what seemed to be disinterest in another season at other appearances…it appears that he and Brad came to an agreement for him to leave the show. He is to be replaced by another character, but no details. As soon as I see something confirmed, I’ll let you know…

by on Sep.26, 2001, under Television

Don’t forget: Enterprise debuts tonight at 8PM EDT/7PM CDT on you local UPN station with a two-hour premiere. I wonder how many times my local station will pre-empt it for Bruins hockey this year…

More: The official StarTrek.Com site has a launch site for Enterprise, and Vidiot, a.k.a. Mr. Video, who has been documenting Trek on the Internet for as long as I can remember (starting with the Postscript The Next Generation episode guide) has what is to be the opening and closing credits on his website.

Feel free to drop some reviews here…but please, mark them with spoiler warnings…

More stuff added to the Sci-Fi TV Store

by on Sep.17, 2001, under General News

In the quest to gather things people may not think of, I’ve added a few more things to the Sci-Fi TV Store. First up is Reboot, the pioneer CGI cartoon (season 3 only so far); Red Dwarf has also been added – you can get the entire series AND the two outtake tapes; Star Blazers first season is available on DVD, and all three seasons in three tape collections; and I’ve added a Miniseries section starting with V and Frank Herbert’s Dune. And just added: Blake’s 7. Keep checking back for even more…
