The next two Tuesdays are going to be expensive ones….of course, the Babylon 5 Season 1 Box Set is out tomorrow, as are ST:TNG Season 5 and X-Files Season 6 (my previous report of 11/7 was mistaken). Next Tuesday gives us movies, movies, movies – the extended Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Gift Set and Standard) and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (Widescreen and Fullscreen). Since I won’t get the B5 discs until Christmas, can someone send in a review?

Shipping screw-ups?
Well, I didn’t order ’em… but I tried to buy the B5 season one DVD set today.
No luck.
Nobody around here (Everett, WA) had ’em in stock. I checked FYE, Suncoast, Sam Goody, and Fred Meyer — a helpful fellow B5 fan working at Suncoast took the time to chat with me for a bit. Here’s what she had to say:
They were expecting two boxes (cases?) of the B5 season one DVDs. What they got instead were two extra boxes of Band of Brothers.
She feels that Warner Brothers “…simply doesn’t care.” (I can believe it.)
She also adds they ship things at the absolute last minute. They won’t ship things to Suncoast’s warehouse, everything has to go straight to the stores. Things that are due to be released on a certain day usually show up the day before, vs. other vendors who’ll have things shipped out a week ahead of time.
One wonders exactly what runs through the heads of the management of Warner Brothers…

Here in Reno, Nv, I just purchased my copy. Best Buy had at least 50 of them. Actually I took it as a good sign hoping they feel they’ll be able to SELL 50 of them in a reasonable time thus encouraging WB to continue w/ the other seasons…
