Atkinson in talks to be Voldemort?

The Z Review is reporting (we’ll call it a rumor for now) that Warner Bros. is in talks for the part of the evil Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the person they are in talks with is Mr. Bean and Blackadder star Rowan Atkinson. I’m really not sure if I can picture this – I can’t recall him ever being in a serious role…

Um….what?
I can’t imagine Rowan Atkinson doing anything seriously. I think the most serious role he’s played was in his portrayal of Zazu in the Lion King π
You know, its almost too bad that Alan Rickman is already Snape–he’d be perfect for that role. Other villian-esque folk I can think of might be:
Al Pacino
Kevin Spacey
Gary Oldman
To name a few. But Atkinson?!?! Man, that would be bad. Even Jim Carey would be better.

Re:Um….what?
Gary Oldman is already attached to the franchise as Sirius Black, so he’s out.
I think a contender would need to be an imposing, mean-looking sort, but I can’t remember how the character actually appeared in GoF…

Really? hadn’t heard that Oldman was already on board. Ah well, he’ll do well in that role. I have to say I’m at a loss as to who else might be good. Just _not_ Atkinson, please! π
