Some tidbits to tide you over – expect no updates until at least Sunday afternoon: Enterprise may get a limited renewal of 12 episodes, with an option for 24; futuristic legal drama Century City has been cancelled due to bad ratings – no surprise since it was up against American Idol, which gets more people to call in and vote than watched City; the direct-to-video sequel to Starship Troopers, Starship Troopers: Hero of the Federation, will be released on June 1st; and you can now pre-order the theatrical release of The Return of the King and the whole trilogy from our store.
Showmasters writes ” This May Day bank holiday Showmasters will once again be holding their highly popular media show COLLECTORMANIA 5. And to make the show go with a bang they will be joined by some famous heroes and villains from the biggest blockbuster movies and cult tv shows from around the world, including Star Wars, Stargate SG-1 and Lord of the Rings.” Read More for the huge list of guests.
The Phantom Poster writes: “Could the Lord of he Rings get remade already? Rumors have David Lynch (Twin Peaks) wanting a shot at it. “If they can remake my Dune epic, why can’t I remake someone else’s? And Jackson is even doing the 534th version of King Kong.” And since no one in Hollyweird can come up with new ideas – remaking movies over and over, adapting comic books, sequel after sequel – why not just remake the same blockbuster movie every year?” Hmmm…The Rock as Aragorn, Paul Williams as a Hobbit (no camera tricks needed!)…what would be your fantasy fun casting?
