by Doc on Jun.14, 2005, under Television
GateAngel writes “According to the article on page 55 of the new official scifi magazine “The
Stars Are Ours’ about the addition of the new cast members, Michael Shanks has apparently been replaced in Season 9… by some guy named Daniel Jackson! Yep, according to the article the new cast members will be joining Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Daniel Jackson on the show.

The URL for the contest is the same as the for last year http://www.scifi.com/getinthegate and internet access to the new contest is set to commence on the premiere date of both series, which is July 15, 2005 and will run until 8/27/05″ …When I win this time, I’ll keep a running blog.. 🙂

Dalek held captive
by Doc on Jun.11, 2005, under General News
A Dalek, believe to be an original prop, was stolen from Wookey Hole Caves in Wells, England, and apparently being held for ransom. The “plunger” weapon was left behind with a note that read, “We are holding the Dalek captive. We demand further instructions from the Doctor. For the safety of the human race we have disarmed and removed its destructive mechanism,” signed by “Guardians of the Planet Earth”. Publicity stunt or prank?

I hadn’t heard this before, so I checked Gateworld which also didn’t have it, but a Lexa fan site has the news as far back as February. Lexa is the wife of Michael Shanks (Dr. Daniel Jackson).
