Galactica jumps to Sunday night

by on Nov.21, 2006, under Television

Not sure why, but the SCI FI Channel is moving Battlestar Galactica from the Sci Friday lineup, opting for Sundays at 10pm ET after the new series The Dresden Files, effective January 21st.

    Two possible (okay, obvious) reasons

    1. Trying to get more viewers – while Friday night seems to be the standard time to put sci-fi on, maybe they’re hoping that non-scifi people who’ve heard about BSG will tune in if it’s on a better night.
    2. Trying to get people hooked on Dresden Files via association with another hit show (doubtful – they’d just air it on Friday then move it to sunday)
    3. Trying to avoid counter-programming against NBC. (Does NBC have anything coming on Friday nights that might compete?)

My personal bet is #1. Either way, now I know when the Dresden Files will air. Hopefully they won’t screw it up like several other things they’ve “adapted”.

This one worries me..I don’t know one BSG fan that also does not watch Simpsons/Family Guy, etc…could be bad.
