CBS adds two SF shows
by Doc on Jan.29, 2007, under Television
CBS has picked up two SF pilots: Babylon Fields, an hour-long zombie “comedy-drama” (isn’t that called a “dramedy” now?) from 20th Century Fox with Michael Cuesta (Dexter) producing, and Twilight, a drama about a “vampire/private eye who’s dealing with the fallout from being immortal, his foes in the vampire world and a budding love for a mortal,” coming from Joel Silver and Warner Brothers TV.

Late to the party
So they’re knocking off “Shaun of the Dead” and “Buffy,” years after they were all the rage. Nice job, CBS. How about something to do with “Titanic” while you’re at it?

What? Most of these “new shows” are remakes….
Mars […]about a detective who goes back in time to the 1970s
Was going to say “Quantum Leap remake”, here…but that’s below. Hmm..
The Bionic Woman
Remake
Fox’s New Amsterdam, which centers on a cop who is hundreds of years old
Okay, doesn’t ring any bells offhand…
Twilight deals with a private eye who is a vampire
Either P.N. Elrod’s Vampire Chronicles, or Angel (as you pointed out), or even Forever Night….
Eli Stone
Got nothing.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Not even Sci-Fi. Next…
Pushing Daisies
Several offhand, but none that I remember enough to write down.
Babylon Fields
I wonder if they get Shaun to replay his role…can’t wait for Hot Fuzz, personally.
Demons, about an ex-Jesuit priest/psychologist who fights demons.
Oooh! I know! We’ll get Skeet Ulrich! He’s available, his last show didn’t make….oh, he has a new one, huh? Nevermind.
Journeyman, an epic fantasy about a man who travels back in time to fix the lives of people in trouble.
I hear Scott Bakula’s available.
Sarah Connor Chronicles
A self-remake. Nice.
Them
There’s the Dinosaur/Pulp one, there’s V, there’s a few others.
Reaper, about a 21-year-old slacker
Wasn’t Scifi just showing this? Dead Like Me? Or more like Ghost Rider, or maybe Wraith…
Gods. Oh, for something innovative. Hell, at this point I’m ready for them to do a remake of Heatvision & Jack – after all, it’s already a remake of half of these….
