Schirra, fifth of the Mercury 7, dies

Wally Schirra, a member of the original Mercury 7 astronauts and the fifth of them to reach space, passed away today at the age of 84. Schirra also flew on Gemini 6, and commanded Apollo 7, the first manned flight of the Apollo program.
