John Carter of Mars a Pixar production now?

SCI FI Wire is reporting that Disney’s Pixar unit will produce the John Carter of Mars series. They cite ERBzine.com, a site devoted to Edgar Rice Burroughs, but I didn’t see a definitive announcement. I did find a reference to the production being a mix of live action and CGI. What is definite is that Disney did option the franchise.
