Stanton give more details on John Carter Of Mars

by on Sep.25, 2008, under Movies

Director Andrew Stanton (Wall*E), who is also performing writing duties for the upcoming John Carter of Mars movie, gave more details to SCI FI Wire on the early stages of the film’s production. Apparently the look will differ from the classic bookcover imagery of the Burroughs series, and may diverge from the books themselves. “I’m going to do what I remember more than what they exactly do.” They are still mum on the format, but reports are that it may be a mix of live action and animation.

    I Agree

I think that in this case it will be a good idea to diverge somewhat from the books. As I recall, they were fairly short and the plots were simple. As Stanton says, my memories are better than the actual books. The concept is great, however, and could be made into a good movie by a talented writer.

My favorite version of the John Carter of Mars series is a spoof done by Mark Rogers in More Adventures of Samurai Cat .
