Ghostbusters, Spider-Man confirmed to return
by Doc on Sep.08, 2008, under Movies
Charge your proton packs: Harold Ramis has confirmed they are working on a script for Ghostbusters 3. The Office writing duo Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are working on the script, which may deal with the old Ghostbusters passing the proton packs on to a younger bunch. In the meantime, Spider-Man may get a couple more installments, as it is being reported that Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are “locked in” to make Spider-Man 4, and that Sony is considering filming two films back to back.

Elfwood.com celebrates one year as company
by Doc on Sep.03, 2008, under General News
Kenth Johansson writes “After 11 years online, one year ago Elfwood.com was set up as a small company. The reason was to ensure the future of the world?s largest sci-fi and fantasy community. And what a year it has been.
‘We have doubled the daily average of visitors and turned around the negative trend of new material at the website. Not at least, we have secured the future of Elfwood. Cost for hosting and servers had become too high to handle as a hobby project’, says founder Thomas Abrahamsson
In this new setting there will be more resources available to help out with development, maintenance and general improvements.
‘The idea now is to develop additional features for those who donate to Elfwood, the so called Elfwood Patrons. We want to offer something special to those that support our community. We hope that those who value and use our services will do that and help us develop’ Thomas says.
In the mean time, Elfwood is climbing the lists of most visited websites and just recently pushed in on the list of the 6000 most visited in the world.”
Battle over Watchmen heating up
by Doc on Sep.02, 2008, under Movies
The previously mentioned legal tussle between Fox and Warner Brothers is heating up, with the lawyers of both sides firing volleys. Fox is planning to file an injunction against the movie’s release, schedule for next March, while Warners says Fox silently waited with full knowledge of the production until it was completed to complain – even giving Warners the rights to the title “Watchmen”, which Fox had registered with the MPAA. Interestingly, both sides filed for trial dates after the release date. Update: The trial date has been set for January 6th.
