Could Universal be planning on a yet another version of Battlestar Galactica? Glen A. Larson had been trying to resurrect his version of the show (as had Richard Hatch with a competing version, among others) when Universal elected to go with Moore and Eick version now finishing up on the SCI FI Channel. But now The Hollywood Reporter says that original series producer Larson may take another version to the big screen. Other than it seems to be yet another reboot, there are little details though.
Robert James Wright writes “The new look www.lonerseries.com website has hit and has many new features. Currently in production this major eleven part webisode sci-fi series to be released on June 1st 2009 exclusively on-line is a breakthrough in web based animation.
The updated site now features, the first official trailer A, seven original soundtrack songs written exclusively for the Loner series, 8 page comic written by Robert James Wright with art by Dan Avenell and four webdoc making of’s. There are also character banner and posters , full still gallery, character, race and ship database and a competition to win exclusive prizes. These are just a few of the exciting features now available at the Loner website. Soon a flash shooter game will be ready for play.
So far the response to the Loner series has been both exciting and has given opportunities for the creators to give interviews for various websites, magazines and newspapers.
The Write Page is finally introducing the new computer generated series LONER to the masses. The epic task of bringing a major series such as Loner to the internet is a major undertaking pushing the envelope to what can be achieved within this arena – IN 2009 just as Star Wars changed cinema, Loner will change the internet = In 2009 STAND ALONE.”
