SyFy off the deep end? Gibson and Tiffany to battle in movie
by Doc on Jun.24, 2010, under Television
I admit it…I heard this through another channel and seriously thought it was a joke, but apparently not: Tween sensations (before they were called tweens) Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, long after the tabloid stories of rivalry have faded, will put a new rivalry on the small screen as they will appear in a new SyFy shlocker, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. Seriously. I didn’t make this up. I can’t even call these B movies any more. At least a B movie I might want to watch…

Between this and “Dinocroc vs Supergator”, I think some idjit at SciFi (sorry, I refuse to use their bastardized spelling) is attempting to recreate the old “Godzilla vs x” movies.
Their miserable failure at doing so notwithstanding, I have some advice for these folks. The first step is to create a monster that, while ostensibly the villain (at first), somehow manages to endear itself to the viewer. After that, THEN you manufacture ‘even bigger’ threats to throw at this monster, thus making him/her/it the protagonist. Only then can you then proceed with the “Goodmonster vs Badmonster” formula while having a chance in hell of it not turning into a sub-B movie.
And for the love of FSM, please stop adding further validity to the non-word “tween” by using it in a sentence. No one cares about the opinions of those beTWEEN childhood and adolescence, ie. ages 10-12, to which Gibson and Tiffany, while certainly ******** in their respective late-teen primes, do not apply.
