An aircraft that seems to be the Destiny’s shuttle appears out of nowhere next to the ship. Colonel Young tries to make contact with the voice coming from the shuttle, and it sounds like Caine. The voice confirms that he is Robert Caine, but neither Young or Caine knows how they got there. The shuttle was supposed to be in another galaxy light years away. Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol will actually air on Christmas
by Doc on Nov.17, 2010, under Television
BBC America will air this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, “A Christmas Carol”, on Christmas night this year, so it will only be hours after the U.K. viewers get to see it. Along with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, the special will also feature Arthur Darvill (Rory), along with Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films) and Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins. “A Christmas Carol” will air at 9PM EST.
Now if only I got BBC America in HD…
Rowling tells Radcliffe no more Harry Potter films
by Doc on Nov.16, 2010, under Books, Movies
In a quick followup to our previous article about Daniel Radcliffe saying he did not want to see more Harry Potter, Radcliffe told MTV News at the NYC premiere for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 he received a text from J.K. Rowling that told him that she would not make any more Harry Potter films, “as a reward”. I’ll note that this does not say that she won’t write any more Harry Potter books, and certainly does not preclude more stories in the Wizarding World…
The Hulk becomes ABC series
by Doc on Nov.16, 2010, under Comics, Television
Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) and David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) are creating a new TV series for The Hulk for Marvel TV and ABC Studios. It is del Toro’s first TV project (he previously had a first look deal with 20th TV, which apparently didn’t pan out), for which he will share story and created by credits with Eick, who will write the screenplay. Both will exec produce, with del Toro also directing if his schedule permits. Launch of the series is slated to occur after The Avengers (which features the Hulk) is released in theaters in July 2012, although it does not seem as if there will be a direct tie in, especially since they are aiming for a younger Bruce Banner. This Hulk will also not be 100% CGI, but a combination of CGI, prosthetics, and puppetry.

So how does the video – and the new Doctor – fare?

Riese: Kingdom Falling – the web series you should be watching
by Doc on Nov.13, 2010, under Web Sites
Sanctuary started out as a web-based series of short episodes featuring some great talent that proved to be so popular Syfy picked it up as a regular series. Syfy thinks that could happen again – taking the independently produced steampunk web series Riese: Kingdom Falling, with 5 never-before-seen episodes comprising a second chapter and featuring it on their web site.
New episodes of Riese: Kingdom Falling appear on Tuesdays and Thursdays generally before noon ET, with 4 new episodes remaining. Each episode is less than 10 minutes, so you can get caught up pretty fast.
