On the weekend of August 13 and 14, a new science-fiction event will be splashing down in London, and it will be presided over by Claudia Christian, who starred in “Babylon 5.”
The event will allow fans unrivaled access to all the genre stars that will be attending, many of whom are some of Claudia’s personal friends.
Proceeds from ClaudiaCon will go towards helping out BlESMA, that provides war veterans with prosthetic limbs and Guide Dogs, which provide seeing-eye dogs for the blind. Both of these are UK-based charities.
The convention will give fans the chance to mingle with a variety of stars from television and film, from both in front of and behind the cameras.
Joining Claudia on her convention odyssey will be “Doctor Who’s” Nicola Bryant and the much-loved Jeremy Bulloch from “Star Wars.” Additionally you’ll be able to hang at the bar with Mark Allen Shepherd, who played the ultimate barfly in the form of “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s” Morn.
Claudia, who’ll host the event, will also be running auctions throughout Saturday and Sunday in which she’ll be auctioning off memorabilia from “Babylon 5” and “Atlantis.” Also attending the event will be the good people from Mongoose Publishing, who will be demonstrating their new Star Trek game “A Call to Arms: Star Fleet” in which Claudia lends her voice talents.
So if you’re looking for something fun to do next weekend, head on over to London, England, for Claudia Con and help out some terrific charitable causes. For more information, go to: www.claudiaconuk.com
