Spielberg gets studio funding for Robopocalypse

In an interesting move that involves three separate studios, both Dreamworks and Fox have agreed to co-finance Steven Spielberg’s next directorial effort, Robopocalyse, based on the novel by Daniel H. Wilson, about the day when our robot servants turn against us. The third studio involved is Disney, who will distribute the film domestically, likely under its Touchstone Pictures banner.

Syfy renews Alphas for second season

Following up to an earlier tweet (you are following us on Twitter, aren’t you?), Syfy announced today that they have renewed freshman series Alphas for a second season.

Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions, made the announcement. Syfy is ordering 13 episodes of the breakout scripted summer hit from series producers Universal Cable Productions and BermanBraun Television to air in 2012.
