So, that Doctor Who movie that David Yates is supposedly producing? MTV News caught up with Yates at the 2011 BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards and asked him about it…here is the video of the quick conversation:

He notes that he can’t say much, “because its such a long way away,”, but that they are looking for a writer first.
However, Steven Moffat responded on Twitter: “To clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot. Movie thing: David Yates, great director, was speaking off the cuff, on a red carpet. You’ve seen the rubbish I talk when I’m cornered.”
The statements seem contradictory at some level. Although Yates is reportedly working with Jane Tranter, head of BBC Worldwide productions, Moffat’s “BBC Team” is reportedly his production team. And Yates previously said it would be a “fresh” take on the Doctor and not follow what Moffat (and his predecessor, Russell T. Davies) has done – in other words, a reboot. The BBC itself still seems to be tight-lipped on the project.
