The Hobbit: There And Back Again pushed back to December 17th, 2014

Warner Bros has said that that they are pushing back the release date for Part 3 of The Hobbit to December 17th, 2014 from its original July 18th date. This puts it in to the same holiday timeframe as the first two installments, and away from X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Not having been in a movie theater for a bit, I haven’t seen the full trailer for Jack the Giant Slayer, but I caught it on TV today – and I’ve got to say, for a movie that opens tomorrow vut I hadn’t really known about until more recently, this trailer has actually done its job and I’m interested in seeing it now…

Lost Girl gets renewed for a fourth season

Just heard from Syfy – Lost Girl has been renewed for a 13-episode 4th season, to air in 2014.
The 3rd season, currently airing on Syfy, is averaging 1.3 million viewers, with around half of them coming from the 18-49 demographic that advertisers love.
Merlin preview: “With All My Heart” plus another Colin recap

Correction: Syfy is NOT airing Merlin this Friday – it will return on Friday, March 8th. Syfy has decided to hold the final five episodes off until May now…
It’s almost the weekend again, which means it’s almost time for another episode of Merlin, as we draw inevitably towards the series conclusion.
In tomorrow’s episode, Merlin knows he must act fast before Morgana’s twisted control over Gwen gets further out of hand. But only the most powerful magic can save the Queen and this will not be easy, even for Merlin. As the High Priestess tightens her grip on Camelot, one thing is clear; she will not give up her puppet without a fight.

Defiance linguist David J. Peterson at TED, live tweeting

Peterson, the linguist who constructed all the languages – spoken and written – for the Votan races on Defiance is at the TED conference – and while there he has been tweeting along including pictures (from @DefianceWorld) .
