by on Mar.25, 2013, under Television

Wow, lots of videos lately – but with just 5 days left to the return of Doctor Who with the episode “The Bells of Saint John”, Steven Moffat produced a prequel short for the episode where the Doctor has a talk with a little girl on a swingset, about how he’s lost a friend twice and doesn’t know how to find her again…you’ll never guess who the girl is…well, maybe you will…

In addition, today both on iTunes and [asin=B00C0YQTQI]Amazon[/asin] there is a free video short, which shows just what happened to the Sontaran Strax after the events that took place on Demons Run – where it appeared he had perished. Yet, in “The Snowmen”, he’s alive and well – except he is in Victorian London with Madame Vastra and Jenny…

Every episode of every live-action Star Trek series is free on Hulu for a limited time!

by on Mar.22, 2013, under Television, Video/DVD

Oh my…Hulu has made available every episode of all the live-action Star Trek series for free! They are available for a “limited time”, which I’ve heard is the end of the month, so get watching!

And I checked – they appear to be the original uncut episodes of the original series, although with the remastered effects, at least with my spot-check of “The Trouble With Tribbles”, which has the vodka/scotch scene intact.

Moffat on Doctor Who 50th: Can’t be “about looking backwards”

by on Mar.21, 2013, under Television

The new Entertainment Weekly features two different covers for Doctor Who (see them here, courtesy of Blogtor Who), but the more interesting bit came from the article inside, in which producer Steven Moffat was quoted as saying about the upcoming 50th Anniversary, “We can’t make this all about looking backwards. It’s actually got to be the start of a new story.”

This appears to be in relation to the desire among fans to have something like “The Eleven Doctors” special, featuring all living Doctors and somehow accommodating the deceased ones as well. But that’s a tall order to try and squeeze into an episode – even a super-sized one. But reading in to it more, I’m wondering about “…a new story.” Would a 50th Anniversary episode be used to kick off something new? Like, perhaps, a rumored new Doctor?!?
