Merlin finale preview and one last giveaway…

Tomorrow night is the final episode of Merlin, “The Diamond of the Day, part two”, and we must bid farewell to Merlin, Arthur, Gwen, Gaius and the rest. But we can have one last giveaway! And congrats to Leila G for helping us get the word out and winning last week’s giveaway!

H.G. Wells is back on Warehouse 13: “Instinct”

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles to air on Cartoon Network starting May 29th

The Cartoon Network may not have any Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes to air any more, but that doesn’t mean there is no Star Wars – the network will air episodes of the web series LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles starting next Wednesday, May 29th at 8/7c with a 30 minute premiere, “The Phantom Clone”. Two more episodes will air later this year.
To celebrate, LEGO took over Times Square and unveiled a life-sized X-Wing constructed from LEGO bricks – over 5 million of them. It took 32 master builders 17,000 hours to construct it, and they used the actual X-Wing kit blueprint to do it! The X-Wing will spend a couple days in Times Square, and then it will be relocated to LEGOLAND in California.
Twilight Saga: Eclipse director Slade to take on Helix

Deadline reports that David Slade, who directed The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will direct the premiere episode of Ronald Moore’s Helix for Syfy, which has been teased in recent weeks on the channel.
Slade also directed the pilot of Awake and several episodes of Hannibal, where he also serves as executive producer.

The Weinstein Company picks up SF romance Passengers at Cannes

This has the potential to be interesting: A man (Keanu Reeves) aboard a “sleeper ship” – a spaceship full of colonists who are kept in suspended animation until arriving at their destination – wakes up due to a malfunction, 90 years to early. Facing the possibility of growing old and dying alone, he decides to wake up a woman (Reese Whitherspoon) to keep him company.
The Weinstein Company picked up Passengers, written by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus), and be directed by Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire) in his first feature film chair, and is being financed by Wayfare Entertainment. TWC reportedly multi-million dollar minimum guarantee and a P&A commitment in the $25 million range for a wide release in 2014, according to Deadline.

BBC confirms 8th series of Doctor Who, Steven Moffat returning

In case you had any questions about it, the BBC confirmed today that there will indeed be an eighth series of Doctor Who, and that Steven Moffat is returning as producer.
They also mention that a lot more is planned still to celebrate the 50th AnniversaryNot many details have been given (we already know about the special episode November 23rd and the An Adventure in Space and Time telefilm about the making of Doctor Who), but they also confirmed that there will be a Christmas episode as well.
Speaking of the 50th Anniversary episode, we know that David Tennant is returning, along with John Hurt (who appeared at the end of the series 7 finale), Jenna-Louise Coleman, plus Jemma Redgrave will return as Kate Stewart, daughter of the late Brigadeer Lethbridge-Stewart, but also Billie Piper will return!
