Sean Teale to lead Syfy’s pilot Incorporated
by Doc on Jul.20, 2015, under Television
Syfy’s pilot Incorporated has found it’s lead.
The pilot, a join effort from Pearl Street Productions (the studio run by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon), CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions, is an espionage thriller that takes place in a dystopian future set in 2062, “where climate change has ravaged the planet, ethical boundaries have been redrawn and American cities have become a tantalizing and terrifying mix of the luxurious and the medieval.” The duo of David and Alex Pastor created and wrote the pilot, and will direct.
Deadline reports that Sean Teale (Reign) will star as Ben Larson, a rising star in a mega-corporation called Chrysalis who is determined to climb the rickety, bloodstained ladder of success in order to find and rescue the woman he loves — and will tromp on anyone who gets in his way.

2015 Emmy noms are out…Game Of Thrones leads all, while Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany finally gets hers
by Doc on Jul.16, 2015, under Television
Orphan Black fans rejoice!
The 2015 Emmy nominations list was released today, and Game Of Thrones is king of the hill at 24 nominations (out of HBO’s 126 total…the next closest network was FX Networks at 38.) American Horror Story: Freak Show followed in second at 19. Gotham and The Walking Dead weighed in at 4 a piece.
Among the Marvel series, Marvel’s Daredevil managed 3 nominations, while Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. only managed one.
But the big story is that Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany has finally received a Outstanding Lead Actress, which fans have been clamoring for especially given that she’s a one woman ensemble cast, playing many very different characters in every episode. She’s up against Taraji P. Henson (Empire), Claire Danes (Homeland), Robin Wright (House Of Cards), Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), so it’s pretty crowded with talent, but it’s a step closer…

Some post pilot cast changes are happening for HBO’s Westworld, based on the Michael Crichton 1973 movie about a theme park full of robots that goes horribly wrong.
Miranda Otto (Eowyn in Lord of the Rings), who was in the pilot, is exiting the show and taking a regular role on Homeland instead. Eion Bailey will play Logan, a playboy of sorts who returns to Westworld to show his friend William (Jimmi Simpson, House of Cards) the park. Clifton Collins Jr. (Pacific Rim) plays Lawrence, a criminal who apparently knows his way around Westworld.
