Being Human Preview: “You’re the One That I Haunt” plus recap

by on Mar.30, 2011, under Television

In the next sneak peek clip of the all-new episode of Being Human, Nora tells Josh that she’s already getting sick from the pregnancy and she feels like she’s showing too. Josh is shocked and questions whether she should be experiencing both already, while clearly keeping to himself the fear of what might really be inside her. He reassures her that he wants to stay with her through the pregnancy, and then she tells him her HCG levels are off the charts. That basically means there could be multiple fetuses, or a possible birth defect. Josh looks like he needs one big gulp and a deep breath while he confirms he will be at the ultrasound to figure it all out. Watch the clip and tune in on Monday at 9/8c on Syfy to see exactly what Nora and Josh could be bringing into the world.

And check out the recap for “Going Dutch”!

Stargate Universe preview: “Seizure”

by on Mar.29, 2011, under Television

In the next sneak peek clip of the all-new episode of Stargate Universe, Eli tries to express why his mathematical formulas and how he arrives at his solutions are correct, with a smug confidence through his young demeanor. It is clearly trusted by Colonel Young, and he simply wants to move forward after receiving word from Eli. Back at Homeworld Command, Young explains that the Lucian Alliance will no longer have the opportunity to attack the Destiny. He calmly states that it would be by providing a peace offering. The look on his face says something different. Be sure to watch the clip and tune in on Monday at 10/9c on Syfy to see what the next step will be for Young and those aboard.

Syfy viewership up 12 percent overall for quarter

by on Mar.29, 2011, under Television

Think Syfy’s been doing the wrong thing with their programming choices? Apparently not. Syfy announced today that their viewership for the first quarter of 2011 was up 12 percent overall and 16 percent in Adults 18-34, boosted by freshman series Face Off (which averaged 1.53 million viewers) and Being Human (1.8 million), both of which were renewed for a second season.

Also cited were WWE Friday Night SmackDown, with a whopping 3.2 million viewers, and Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, which set a new series high with the season 2 premiere last Wednesday with 1.19 million viewers, up a whopping 31 percent over the series debut in July 2010.

Merlin preview: “The Coming of Arthur – Part 1”

by on Mar.29, 2011, under Television

In the next sneak peek clip of the all-new episode of Merlin, Arthur and Merlin are riding horses through the forest as Merlin is questioning his motives and incessantly asks where they are headed. Arthur jokes that if he tells him he has to kill him, but Merlin suspects he’ll end up dead anyways, so Arthur might as well get it over with now. Arthur’s nagging about Merlin being pessimistic gets them stuck with others and potentially set up to be dealt to slave traders. Instead, Merlin is called on to fight a champion in the arena. Fearfully, he hopes it’s not so, but you will have to watch the clip and tune in on Friday at 10/9c on Syfy to find out!

Eureka, Warehouse 13 DVD releases

by on Mar.28, 2011, under Video/DVD

Universal has announced that the [sfs=1124]DVD release for Season 2[/sfs] of Warehouse 13 is scheduled for June 28th, 2011 – I don’t see a Blu-ray release listed at all. Also, I checked around and [sfs=1125]Eureka Season 4.0[/sfs] is listed as being released the week before on June 21st (also DVD only). I don’t have any information if this is another half-season release like with Season [sfs=954]3.0[/sfs] and [sfs=1011]3.5[/sfs]…the title implies it though.

Pre-order now!

Sackhoff, Phillips join Longmire pilot

by on Mar.26, 2011, under Television

Pilot season is getting crazy, and thanks to Twitter we get to learn all about the programs we aren’t likely to ever see. But Longmire, a mystery series based on the [asin=0143036424]novel series[/asin] by Chris Johnson about a sheriff in a county in Wyoming, seemed to be a sought-after script. Now through Twitter I’ve learned that both Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and Lou Diamond Phillips (Stargate Universe) have landed roles opposite Robert Taylor (The Matrix).

Doctor Who prequel to Series 6 Episode 1 online now

by on Mar.25, 2011, under Television

Watch it right here! This is the first of three “prequels”, video shorts that will lead in to three full episodes through the series. This is the prequel for the first episode, “The Impossible Astronaut”. I left it at full resolution, which gives the site theme a bit of a fit, so you may want to embiggen your browser…

Update: Alas, the BBC no longer serves it to U.S. clients. BBC America does have it though on their site.

Fringe gets fourth season

by on Mar.25, 2011, under Television

News broke late last night (being on the east coast has its drawbacks), but despite it’s move into the so-called “Death Slot”, Fox has renewed Fringe for a fourth season, even with ratings slipping somewhat in recent weeks, mostly due to college basketball and daylight savings time…

by on Mar.24, 2011, under Television

TOR.com has an interesting article called Looking Back With Kitsch: 7 Science Fiction TV Shows We Barely Remember, about some relatively short lived series that perhaps we’re better off not knowing. I remember all but one (a rare British SF show I am not familiar with), and I don’t think they were necessarily as bad as they say:
