After some it is-it isn’t ending reports, a press release from producers David Eick and Ronald D. Moore confirms the end is near for Battlestar Galactica. In a “creative decision”, the two will end the run with the conclusion of Season 4, which is expected to start with a special two-hour episode in November, and then air the remaining episodes in early 2008. The SCI FI Channel has accepted the decision (although the article title implies it was SCI FI’s decision to end it).

The second season of Kyle XY returns to the ABC Family Channel on June 11th. If you’ve missed the first season, you can pick it up on DVD, and there is a soundtrack available as well. Read More for a synopsis of the series.

With the upcoming release of Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, Warner Brothers has finally updated the Babylon 5 website, with information about both the original series and the DVD, including some short videos of JMS on set. A trailer for the DVD should be up soon.

I really don’t believe The Sun in general, so take this knowing the source: They claim that Doctor Who will be cancelled after its 4th series, when Russell T. Davies and others of the production team resign as a group. I find it highly unlikely that the BBC would kill the show just because Davies leaves, which I vaguely recall he was already planning. More likely another production crew will be brought in, and its WAYYYY to early to comment on the possible results.

A group of SF writers called Sigma, which includes Greg Bear, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven and others, have been called by Homeland Security to advise them, playing “what if” games.

Marve’s Doctor Strange has gotten animated lately – and will be released on DVD on August 14th. The official web site also has a trailer, and you can Read More for the synopsis. From the looks of it, it has a definite anime influence.

Perhaps due to recent successful Wednesday openings, Warner Brothers has announced that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will open on Wednesday, July 11th, instead of Friday, July 13th.

The trailer for the new CGI Clone Wars series has been released on the official Star Wars website. Looks like it fills in some more time between the previous series and Episode III.

Ok, I’ve been in a totally retro mood lately…expect some Retro Reviews soon of things like Blake’s 7 and anything else I can get my hands on. But I’ve got a really obscure memory of something nobody may remember, and its time to see if my readers can save me…you did well the last couple times…
