by TheThunderChild on Feb.17, 2010, under Comics, Movies
The Thunder Child sf & fantasy webzine is not a fan of horror per se, but we’ve some interviews with various horror movie folks, and writers of Call of Cthulhu role playing games, etc. We’ll also be adding a regular horror review column thanks to Matt Sanford. To that end, we’ve just released two comics (out of a four comic set) from the movie The Crazies which is to debut Feb 26. Matt will be reviewing the comics shortly, but if you want to take a look at the covers, and head off to your local comic store to reserve your copies on the strenth of ’em:

Spider-Man 4 delayed; Thor wins
by Doc on Jan.07, 2010, under Comics, Movies
With Sam Raimi and Sony at an impasse over the villains for Spider-Man 4, the web-slinger lost his grip on the planned release date of May 6th, 2011 – and comic competition Thor from Paramount is the apparent heir to the date.
Marvel heroes join the House of Mouse
by Doc on Aug.31, 2009, under Comics, General News
Disney is acquiring Marvel for about $4 billion in cash and stock. This will make for some very interesting interactions, as Universal Studios Theme Parks have rights to some of the characters…obviously those agreements will still be in place for the foreseeable future, but what happens when they expire is anyone’s guess.

G4TV has a preview video with interviews and gameplay footage.

by Doc on Feb.26, 2009, under Comics
If the economy isn’t hurting you and you have a lot of extra cash screaming “spend me!” perhaps you want Action Comics #1, of which only about 100 are known to exist and perhaps 20 are “unrestored”. If you do, you may have your chance starting tomorrow as one goes up for auction at comicconnect.com. The issue is the first ever appearance of Superman.
Reboot back as as comic
by Doc on May.30, 2008, under Comics, Television
The mystery wait is over. Reboot has come back as a comic book, but it includes fan involvement, with the fans apparently acting as consultants. “The ReBoot saga continues with this first installment of the Code of Honor storyline: Paradigms Lost. Two mortal enemies set aside their differences to battle a viral outbreak that threatens the stability of cyberspace. Will the unlikely allies cooperate… or stab each other in their backups?” There are still plans for three feature-length films though, produced wholly in-house, and previously described as a “reboot” of the franchise.

It will start with a three-issue series called Serenity: Better Days, which looks back at the crew’s early years, and is due out this coming March. Also, Dark Horse will release a couple lunchbox designs.
