This past week saw the original The Outer Limits receive a re-packaging on DVD, following the “Volume 1/2” split season format MGM is also using for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, with Season 1, Volume 1 out now. I finally took the time to figure out why I couldn’t get Amazon’s latest XML data to process properly, but I’ve got it working and you may notice minor changes to the product display pages as part of the Sci-Fi TV Store and other associated pages. More changes will come soon, like pop-up larger images, click-to-expand reviews, etc. In the meantime, I’ve moved Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea to its own group and added the upcoming Season 3 Volume 1 release and the recent “Global Warming” release of the original theatrical film.

The currently airing 10th and final season of Stargate SG-1, with only a handful of episodes remaining, will come out on DVD shortly after it concludes, with its release on July 24th. Be sure to pre-order your copy now!

With the upcoming release of Babylon 5: The Lost Tales, Warner Brothers has finally updated the Babylon 5 website, with information about both the original series and the DVD, including some short videos of JMS on set. A trailer for the DVD should be up soon.

A group of SF writers called Sigma, which includes Greg Bear, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven and others, have been called by Homeland Security to advise them, playing “what if” games.

Ok, I’ve been in a totally retro mood lately…expect some Retro Reviews soon of things like Blake’s 7 and anything else I can get my hands on. But I’ve got a really obscure memory of something nobody may remember, and its time to see if my readers can save me…you did well the last couple times…

The entire first season of Heroes will be released on DVD on August 28th, and you can pre-order it already. The 7 disc set will include an un-aired 73 minute version of the pilot, 50 deleted and extended scenes, and more, including:

Wally Schirra, a member of the original Mercury 7 astronauts and the fifth of them to reach space, passed away today at the age of 84. Schirra also flew on Gemini 6, and commanded Apollo 7, the first manned flight of the Apollo program.
