by Doc on Apr.23, 2012, under Conventions, Fun Stuff, Movies, Television
Fancy the idea of taking up arms against some of your favorite heroes from SF film and television? Or fancy a blaster fight with a squad of Stormtroopers led by General Motti? (Hey, at least that last one should be easy…we know how well Stormtroopers shoot!)
Well, you might have your chance at Comicpalooza, in Houston May 25-27!
“The next best thing to being a sci-fi or action hero has to be shooting a sci-fi or action hero with a gun. Or maybe being shot by one,” says John Simons, founder and Chairman of Comicpalooza, the Texas International Comic Con. At least that’s the premise that led to the Badass Celebrity Smackdown, in which fans attending Comicpalooza May 25-27 will get their chance to pit themselves against stars of some of the biggest sci-fi and action franchises in Hollywood while helping US veterans at the same time.

Eliza Dushku will take on the role of She-Hulk in the upcoming series, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.…but before your chants of “Rawr!” go overboard, this is an animated series, and she is only providing her voice! Although, I can say, the preview image of She-Hulk is Rawr-worthy…in addition, Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), who voices Iron Man for Ultimate Spider-Man, says that his Iron Man will also make a guest appearance.
Eureka clips from “Lost” and a preview: “The Real Thing”
by Doc on Apr.18, 2012, under Television
So, what did you think of “Dark Andy”? Or is it “Creepy Andy”? “Scary Andy”? 🙂
Wait until next week though…there is a “NO! THEY DIDN’T JUST…NO!” moment. It gets darker.
Anyways, see some clips from the episode, but first, check out the preview for next week’s episode, “The Real Thing”, airing next Monday at 9/8c on Syfy.
[WARNING: These videos are auto-play and will start with an ad. I’ve asked Syfy to stop using auto-play videos as it becomes incredibly annoying especially when trying to use multiple videos like they are sending out now. I suggest muting your computer, wait for the ads to play out, then pause them all and play one at a time.]

More cast announced for Syfy’s Rewind
by Doc on Apr.17, 2012, under Television
A bit of old news, but I just discovered this article didn’t publish: Deadline is reporting 4 more actors have been signed for Syfy’s upcoming Rewind pilot: Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith) as Priya, an “a-typical” historian and behavioral anthropologist; Jennifer Ferrin (The Cape, Sex and the City 2) as Bryce, an obsessive, overachieving scientist who graduated MIT at 18 and isn’t concerned with other people’s perceptions of her; Robbie Jones (Hellcats, One Tree Hill) as Danny, the trusted friend of Henry Knox (played by Shane McRae); and Keon Mohajeri (Circumstance) as Charlie, a mathematician who can reduce history to mathematics with his own patented technology.
Rewind is described as a thriller that revolves around a team of military field operatives and civilian scientists who must use untested technology to travel back in time to alter past events in order to change the future and avoid a devastating terrorist attack. Justin Marks wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Tom Spezialy, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein. BermanBraun and Universal Cable Productions also produce Syfy’s original hit series Alphas, currently entering its second season.
