Sarah Jane to answer question: How many Doctors can there be?
by Doc on Oct.05, 2010, under Television
It’s a question as old as time – just how many times can the Doctor regenerate? We know the canonical answer – 12 – which dictates that there can only be 13 Doctors, and then he’s dead. But we also know that there are ways around it (the Time Lords offered the Master another regeneration, and he’s cheated it several times already). And, of course, it’s science fiction – they can just come up with something new. But it sounds like we will get a definitive answer – at least for the Doctor – in an upcoming episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
The two-part episode “Death of the Doctor” (to air as episodes 5 and 6), airing towards the end of this month in the U.K. (no U.S. airings are scheduled yet), is being written by Russell T. Davies and will feature Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor, and the return of Jo Grant (Katy Manning), one of the Third Doctor’s companions. And among some teaser lines provided by Digital Spy (who saw a sneak peak), “The Doctor doesn’t have to be white. And he can regenerate more than 12 times – a lot more!”

Wonder Woman may return on small screen
by Doc on Oct.02, 2010, under Television
After years of Joel Silver trying to bring Wonder Woman to the big screen, and Joss Whedon bowing out of writing it in 2007 after conflicts over the vision, we may finally see a new incarnation of Wonder Woman – but on the small screen instead. What is strange is that it has a seemingly unlikely producer/writer attached: David E. Kelley, the Boston lawyer-turned-TV writer/producer responsible for legal dramas like L.A. Law, The Practice, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal and Picket Fences. So, Diana is going to moonlight as a lawyer this time around?

Dushku, Glau to guest in other shows
by Doc on Sep.24, 2010, under Television
Two of the “hot girls of the Whedonverse”, Eliza Dushku and Summer Glau, will each have a guest spot on two popular broadcast network shows. Dushku, who last week could be briefly spotted watching boyfriend Rick Fox dancing on Dancing With The Stars, will appear in an episode of Big Bang Theory, playing an FBI agent interviewing the gang so Wolowitz can get a security clearance – I’m wondering if we’ll see Eliza show her skills after an inappropriate comment from him. Then Glau, who already did a guest stint on BBT will turn up on Chuck as one of a series of rotating undercover agents manning the Buy More, specifically in the 8th episode. Fret not one the one shot for Glau though – she’ll be appearing in the mid-season NBC series The Cape.
