No Lost in Space from NBC

Back in January we had reported that NBC had commissioned a script from FOX Television for a new Lost in Space; well SyFy Portal is now reporting that NBC has cancelled its plans.

Update 11/29: Now that the site is fixed, it appears that the plan may have been to use the original cast in the telemovie, and spawn a possible low-cost series, or a movie-of-the-week with Jonathan Harris and the robot hosting. But the recent death of Harris at some level affected whatever the plan was, as well as enthusiasm for the project. NBC also didn’t want to spend a ton of money on the telefilm. But its not dead yet…

Birds of Prey falls victim to ax, but may get finale

Gotham Clock Tower has reported that although the WB has announced the cancellation of its Birds of Prey series, it intends to at least finish out the 13-episode order, and include a 2-hour finale that will tie up all the loose ends.

“I am Farscape” campaign to hit TV

Fans of the cancelled Farscape are taking their campaign to restore the show one step futher – they have produced a commercial based on the SCI FI Channel’s “I am Sci-Fi” commercials, and will have it aired on cable systems in 24 cities next week. You may be lucky to see it though, as it could wind up airing at 3am on C-SPAN or something…

All major Stargate SG-1 characters returning

SCI FI Channel has confirmed the return of all the remaining major actors for Stargate SG-1‘s seventh season. Signing up are Amanda Tapping (Maj. Carter), Christopher Judge (Teal’c), Don S. Davis (Gen. Hammond) and Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn). Richard Dean Anderson (Col. O’Neill) and Michael Shanks (Dr. Jackson) were already confirmed.

It’s official: Stargate SG-1 gets seventh season

Well, after rumors and denials, it’s official: The SCI FI Channel has renewed Stargate SG-1 for a seventh season. Series star Richard Dean Anderson will return as Colonel Jack O’Neill as well as his other role as Executive Producer, and production will begin early next year.Update 11/10: And this chat transcript with supervising producer Joseph Mallozzi indicates that Dr. Daniel Jackson (played by Michael Shanks) will return full time…
