by on Apr.09, 2001, under Television

All 22 episodes of Stargate SG-1 on 5 DVDs in a single box set? Yup…MGM is releasing this set the way ALL series should be done (do you hear me, Warner Home Video???) They will make it to retail stores in May, but Amazon says they’ll ship April 10th!!!
Pre-order now and pay only $62.97 (and we’ll get a modest cut as well!) And coming soon, a Stargate SG-1 Store to gather all the merchandise we can together…

Update 3/19: A preliminary version of the Stargate SG-1 store is online…get your Stargate SG-1 and Stargate movie merchandise from Amazon.com and help support Sci-Fi Storm…

Update 4/9: Bah! Seems Amazon isn’t getting them early – the release date is now May 22nd. I also found out they don’t want me listing release dates on the store page, so I’m just going to say “Released soon” from now on…

Apparently Robert Duncan MacNeil (Lt. Paris on Star Trek: Voyager) spilled some of the beans to Cinescape, and revealed that no one will die in the final episode, at least not any of the regular crew. Surprise.

Red Dwarf reunion on Lexx

by on Mar.21, 2001, under Television

Caught this one on The Official Red Dwarf Website: Hattie Hayridge (female Holly) and Craig Charles (Lister) from Red Dwarf will appear in an episode of Lexx next season (they call it the 4th series, including the original series of movies). The article is a bit confusing, but as near as I can tell, in the episode “P3X” Craig is a prison warden, and Hattie is his Texan wife and sub-warden.

Update: I have found evidence in a few locations that Lexx has been picked up for a full 24-episode run, and will air on the Sci-Fi Channel. Oddly, Series 3 lasted only 13 episodes. No idea of the plotline for Series 4, but given the end of Series 3, it should prove interesting…

New Sci-Fi programming from Spielberg, King, Barker

by on Mar.21, 2001, under Television

CNN.com is reporting, according to Variety, that the Sci-Fi Channel will be getting the 4-hour Firestarter: The Next Chapter from Stephen King, following the main character from Firestarter 20 years later; Saint Sinner from Clive Barker, a TV movie about a 19th-century monk in modern-day Los Angeles hunting down two “buxom” female demons; and Taken, a 20-hour miniseries from Stephen Spielberg about three extended families over the course of 50 years after an alien abduction.

At the same time, it seems the Monday Prime lineup will move to Saturdays, with The Invisible Man moving back to Friday Prime to join Farscape and The Outer Limits, while Black Scorpion and The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne will try to find much-needed ratings on Saturday.
