Meanwhile, in the next episode, the the hurt of REDACTED’s loss (even I haven’t seen it just yet – how many times do you have the opportunity to yell at the creator of a show for spoiling it for you? 🙂 ) is still fresh on the survivors’ minds when they stumble upon a gun show that makes the apocalypse look serene. Check out this sneak peek for “Welcome to the FU-Bar”, and tune in Friday at 10/9c!

Face Off will return in January for 8th season, with a different format

by on Oct.22, 2014, under Television

As we broke on Twitter on Monday afternoon, Syfy’s hit make-up effects competition Face Off, with the prosthetics not even dry yet on the 7th season (the finale airs next Tuesday), will return for Season 8 on Tuesday, January 13th at 9/8c, but with a slightly new format, and the theme of “Return of the Champions”.

In a twist on the show’s traditional format, three former champions, Rayce Bird (Season 2), Anthony Kosar (Season 4) and Laura Tyler (Season 5), will return in the premiere and select teams of five new artists who they will coach throughout the season.

Season 8 will also feature the full-time return of fan-favorite and Academy Award-winning judge, Ve Neill, who recently wrapped work on The Hunger Games franchise.

After an exciting and high-stakes season of competition highlighted by themes of life and death, three artists remain in the fight for the title of Season 7 Face Off champion – Cig Neutron of Los Angeles, CA by way of New Castle, IN; Drew Talbot of Pittsburgh, PA by way of Wood River, IL; and Dina Cimarusti of Chicago, IL. For their final challenge, they will each create a pair of knights, one representing life and one representing death that will have to withstand the trials of battle. The Season 7 finale of Face Off airs Tuesday, October 28 at 9PM ET/PT on Syfy.

The Flash flies for CW, while Gotham gets a full order

by on Oct.13, 2014, under Television

The CW’s newest superhero, The Flash, became the network’s most watched debut in the Live+3 ratings with 6.42 million total viewers, rising 33% over the same day ratings it started with. This boosts it over previous record holder The Vampire Diaries, which still had stronger Same Day numbers from it’s debut in 2009, but did not rise as well in even the Live+7 numbers, which were lower than The Flash‘ L+3.

Meanwhile, across the dial, Fox’ Batman-origin Gotham series, set its own records, with the highest L+7 boost in the 18-49 demographic of 2.7 points to 6.0, or an 82% increase. This has convinced Fox to increase the show’s episode order from 16 to 22.

Lost In Space reboot back in development at Legendary TV

by on Oct.09, 2014, under Television

If at first you don’t succeed…producer Kevin Burns has been trying to reboot the various worlds of Irwin Allen for some time through his Synthesis Entertainment company. Two previous attempts to bring back Lost In Space were made, the first in the early 2000’s with the original cast but was shelved with the death of Jonathan Harris, and the second a 2004 backdoor pilot for a reboot that never aired. In addition, a pilot was shot for a new version of The Time Tunnel in 2006 but was not picked up.

Now it seems that Legendary TV really, really wants to get the Jupiter 2 off the ground – literally. They have teamed up with Kevin Burns to put the show back in development, and have set Dracula Untold scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless to write the pilot. Burns and Legendary TV EVP Peter Johnson will join Sazama and Sharpless as executive producers.
