SPACE decides not to renew Primeval: New World; looking at options
by Doc on Feb.21, 2013, under Television
Less than 48 hours after airing the (from what I understand) heart-wrenching finale of Primeval: New World in Canada, SPACE has decided not to renew the series, according to postings from the official Twitter/Facebook accounts. However, word is that Entertainment One are shopping around for other investors – the show has been sold to 17 markets, although it has not yet aired in at least some of them (Syfy has still not announced a premiere date), so there is some hope still, but I have a feeling it is a long shot.
But if you want to help out, take to twitter and use the #SavePrimevalNW hashtag and let them know you want more!
Casting news: Rachelle Lefevre goes Under The Dome, Kirk Ward to Zombieland
by Doc on Feb.20, 2013, under Television
Some more casting news this week: Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight) is joining the cast of Under The Dome from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and Stephen King, based on a novel by King. She will play Julia, who recently moved from Chicago to Chester’s Mill with her husband and is an investigative journalist.
Amazon Studios has added Kirk Ward (Forrest Gump, The Island) to its pilot for Zombieland, based on the movie. Zombieland is among several projects from Amazon that hopes to break the network broadcast model of television, along with competitors Netflix, Hulu and others that are trying the direct sales/download model.

Being Human preview: “What’s Blood Got to Do With It?” plus clips
by Doc on Feb.15, 2013, under Television
We got our customary Friday email from our favorite vampire…
The house is getting a little crowded lately. As tired as it makes me, I was glad to have that nightshift to keep me occupied. Although, after last week, I don’t know how I can go back and face Kenny. Maybe this job wasn’t such a good idea after all… You can catch a gallery of the episode here.
It seems like Sally may be getting herself into a little trouble this week when she runs into her brother. I hope she can find a way to spare him from Trent’s fate.
You know the drill – below is a sneak peek, a couple clips from last week, & a couple of cool interviews with Sally, Josh & Nora.
See You,
A

The Ice Warriors will return to Doctor Who, while an original companion makes a cameo
by Doc on Feb.11, 2013, under Television
It’s official – we will see the Ice Warriors when Doctor Who returns!
It has been rumored for a bit that the Ice Warriors – the green reptilian humanoids from Mars – will return in the second half of Series 7 this Spring, as they are currently the creatures from the classic series with the most appearances that haven’t been shown in the revival. Executive producer Caro Skinner confirmed the appearance, and they will be in an as-yet-untitled Mark Gatiss-penned episode which involves the Doctor being stuck on a submarine with them. It will be interesting to see what kind of modern makeover they will get, as the originals looked like giant-sized action figures.
Speaking of Mark Gatiss, there has been an interesting bit of casting news regarding his docudrama about the making of Doctor Who, An Adventure in Space and Time. William Russell, who played Ian Chesterton and was one of the first companions to the Doctor, appearing in the very first episode, will make a cameo appearance in the docudrama as someone named Harry. Russell himself is being portrayed by Jamie Glover (Waterloo Road). It was Russell as Ian who uttered the now famous words, “A thing that looks like a Police Box, standing in a junkyard, it can move anywhere through time and space?”
