What show should get a reboot next?
by Doc on Jan.11, 2010, under Television
We had a poll up for a long time about what show should get the reboot treatment next, with Blake’s 7 getting the nod (from the limited choices). Now Wired has gotten in on the act, with their list of 10 TV shows that should get the reboot. First on the list is Buck Rogers, which I’d go with. But then they followed up with the shows that readers wanted, with a larger list which includes some I think might be prime candidates: Blake’s 7, UFO, The Starlost, Space: 1999, and even Star Cops. And those best left forgotten: Salvage 1, and Earth 2 are best left to the fond memories, lest we are reminded of what they really were 🙂 Can I make any money as a consultant to the network on these things?

It’s 2010, and its time to get back to new TV episodes. SCI FI Wire has a nice roundup of what’s coming up in the next week…notable the return of Heroes tonight, and we see the other side of things on Battlestar Galactica: The Plan on Sunday…and would the upgraded Chuck on Chuck next Sunday be considered an “Up-Chuck”?

by Doc on Dec.30, 2009, under General News
The 2009 class of movies being preserved in the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry includes 1957’s The Incredible Shrinking Man, the only obviously SF film, although 1979’s The Muppet Movie and Michael Jackson’s Thriller are included in some broad lists…
English Inception trailer now available
by Doc on Dec.28, 2009, under Movies
Apple Trailers now has an English trailer for the upcoming Inception available, and aside from the synopsis (“A contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.”), still little is known about the plot…but it seems like some pretty wacky dream sequences are involved. That is, unless we’ve perfected roll-up cities.
