Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated

by on Apr.28, 2009, under Movies

Mike Schneider writes “FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated now in post-production. New Website + New Trailer.

Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated
‘Art is dead… yeah it’s all messed up.’

Night of the Living Dead: Reanimated is a mass collaborative artistic re-envisioning of George A. Romero’s 1968 cult classic, Night of the Living Dead.

International artists and animators were invited to select scenes from the film and reinvent them through their artwork.

Their varied works are organized and curated into an art show hung in the time line of this cult classic film.”

Sci-Fi Storm on Vacation

by on Apr.18, 2009, under Sci-Fi Storm

I will be on vacation for the next week. I will have some Internet access but not an awful lot. If my loyal yet few readers can submit stories (HTML preferable – I’m working on that) on anything earth-shattering (or anything at all) it will be a lot quicker for me to post them…when I get back I am going to get back to the new software. Yes, really. I’d still like to write my own, but I recently took a good look at WordPress and it may do everything I want it to – including having guest editors…hint, hint…

Ronald D. Moore on CSI

by on Apr.16, 2009, under Television

OK, I missed this announcement…while watching tonight’s episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, in which they are parodying the whole Star Trek fan culture with a fictional 60s tacky SF show called “Astro Quest” (a bit of a self-parody – CSI is produced by CBS/Paramount, who owns the rights to Star Trek), there is a producer who plans to remake the show as “Astro Quest: Redux” – with a more gritty, bloody, violent version where the captain even cries (something of a parody of J.J. Abrams upcoming film). After airing a scene to the stunned silence of the convention guests, a man stands up and points to the producer yelling, “You suck!” I recognized him instantly as Ronald D. Moore – who essentially did the same thing to Battlestar Galactica!
