Harry Potter over, but some questions still needed answering

by on Jul.26, 2007, under General News

I haven’t posted in several days because I was – what else – reading Harry Potter. I couldn’t devote as much time as others, as I had to share the book, and something about work…at any rate, I’ll post more on the book in a bit. However for those who have read the book (and ONLY for those who read the book, as there be spoilers there – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) and also missed the Today show this morning, J.K. expanded a bit on the epilogue of the book that gave a brief, vague glance at some of the characters (and some new ones) after the climactic end of the story…and she may write an Encyclopedia to finish things off.

Wing Commander Arena for Xbox Live Arcade – win every WC game!

by on Jul.24, 2007, under Games

Remember Wing Commander, the series of space flight combat simulator games with the interesting storyline that went on to add live action video with real actors, like Mark Hamill, and even a feature movie? Well, Wing Commander Arena is coming out Xbox Live Arcade, and to celebrate EA is having a contest where you can win every version of the game (that they could find at least). What? Don’t have the hardware? Well, you get that too – a Pentium computer, Playstation, SegaCD, etc. Even an XBox 360 Elite and Live points for the new game! I just wish they’d remake some of the old games to use modern 3D hardware…I still have a joystick somewhere around here…

Shortened Jericho will tell the story

by on Jul.20, 2007, under Television

Because CBS decided to bring back Jericho with a short order of 7 episodes as a midseason replacement, the writers are busy condensing the story originally meant for a full 22 episodes. Rather than develop stories over two or three episodes, they will have to deal with it in just 1. And in a very rare move, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler admitted the network itself may have been responsible for the decline in ratings, due to the long mid-season hiatus.

Farscape, Galactica get webisodes

by on Jul.18, 2007, under Television

Farscape, which had its last production in 2004, will live on in 10 webisodes produced for the SCI FI Channel, with the hope of a possible revival on television. No actors or writers have been signed yet though. Also, Battlestar Galactica will have 8 mini-webisodes that tie directly to the upcoming “Razor” TV movie, dealing with a young William Adama during the first Cylon War. The plot of Razor is also mentioned, dealing with Lee Adama’s taking command of the Pegasus, and what Admiral Cain did during the attack on the colonies (explaining Michelle Forbes’ appearance in recent previews).
