Boston.com runs a Top 50 SF TV shows list
by Doc on Sep.24, 2005, under Television
I’m not sure what the criteria exactly was (I sure wouldn’t place some of the shows where they were), but Boston.com is running Boston.com’s Top 50 Sci-Fi TV Shows of All Time. Some surprises – the new Battlestar Galactica took the Number 2 spot – and could have been #1 if it wasn’t so new. And Babylon 5 gets some recognition (which often seems lost on the media) at the appropriate #5 spot. Of course there were omissions – Farscape is notably nowhere to be found.
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters out on DVD
by Doc on Sep.20, 2005, under General News
If you’re my age, you remember pretty much anything made by Sid and Marty Krofft with a special kind of fondness. Forget the hokiness, the bad special effects, the talking hats – you can’t help become a child again when these are on. The latest to get the DVD treatment is Sigmund and the Sea Monsters: The Complete First Season from 1973, starring Johnny Whitaker (Family Affair) and Mark Wickes (Sister Act) and several salads gone wrong – err, “sea monsters”. Read More for part of the press release, and I should have a review soon. Also, I’ve reorganized the Sci-Fi TV Store to create a “Krofft Shows” section and moved “Land of the Lost” there.

by Doc on Sep.16, 2005, under Movies
