Babylon 5 Season 2 DVDs next Tuesday; trailers

As you all know, the Season 2 Box Set of Babylon 5 will hit shelves and mailboxes next Tuesday 4/29. Well, the wonderful folks at Warner Bros. sent me some press materials, including links to excerpts of some of the interviews found on the set. I’ve cleaned up the links to be more presentable, so check them out, then pre-order your set before its too late!
Matrix sequels in IMAX

Want to see a 60-foot tall Trinity kickin’ some butt? Well, it appears that both The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions will be released to IMAX theaters. The first will probably hit a couple of weeks after it hits normal (“mundane”? 🙂 theaters on May 15th, whereas the second will hit the big-big screen at the same time as general release on November 5th.
The Two Towers DVD releases

New Line has announced that the DVD releases for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers will follow similarly to that of The Fellowship of the Ring. A basic version will be out August 26th, with an MSRP of $29.95 (VHS for $22.99), and a 4-disc extended version (with a rumored 43 extra minutes) will be out on November 18th.

Elite Force 2 web site launched; Half-Life 2

The official web site for the upcoming Star Trek: Elite Force 2 first-person shooter game is now up, offering details and screenshots. The game itself is due in June. Also making some news is Valve’s eagerly awaited Half-Life 2, basically to say more news will be forthcoming at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in May.
Nebula winners announced

The winners for the 2002 Nebula Awards were announced this past weekend. Notables were Ursula K. Le Guin as the 20th Grand Master, Neil Gaiman taking Best Novel with American Gods, and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring winning Best Script.

Paul Allen to create SF Museum

Paul Allen, co-founder of MicroSoft, is investing $10 to $20 million to build a “temple” to science fiction (NY Times – free reg. required). It is temporarily titled “SFX ? The Science Fiction Experience” and has an advisory board the includes Greg Bear, Ray Bradbury, Octavia Butler and Arthur C. Clarke.
