Harry Potter 4 may be 4+5?
by Doc on Apr.10, 2003, under Movies
According to this article on BBC Online, not only has preliminary work on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire begun, but its believed that it could just be too long to make one movie – so they may break it into two. Producer David Heyman said “We started work on the script last Monday. We’re going to shoot it as one and see how it ends up. If it’s too long then we’ll make it into two.”
Update 2: Stores back online
by Doc on Apr.09, 2003, under General News
My DSL line appears to be out, and I won’t get home until later to check it out, so the Storm stores are currently offline. It managed to correctly adjust to an IP change earlier this week, but this seems to be a bigger issue. I was going to do some testing with new forum software too…
Update: The line is up again. IP address has changed again, but DNS servers should pick it up quickly – you may need to restart your browser. For the techies – lets just say I hate PPPoE.

by Doc on Apr.08, 2003, under Television
In a semi-surprise announcement, Keith Hamilton Cobb, who plays Nietzschean Tyr Anasazi on Andromeda announced that he will not return as a regular for the shows 4th season, joining fellow actor Brent Stait (Rev Bem) and producer Robert Hewitt Wolfe who have left the show previously. More concerns about character direction it seems. He is apparently willing to appear in up to 4 episodes as a guest.

Also, Seth Green has joined the cast of the Scooby-Doo sequel that starts filming on the 14th, playing a “key role”. More “interesting casting” announcements are expected.

The Animatrix review, of sorts…
by Doc on Apr.02, 2003, under General News
The great folks at Warner Home Video sent me a “preview” DVD of The Animatrix, the set of 9 anime-style and CGI shorts set in the world of The Matrix and act as a prelude to The Matrix Reloaded. It’s sort of an extended commercial for the true DVD, which comes out June 3rd. But all I can say is WOW! The anime segments remind me of the styles of the best anime features, and the realism of the CGI rendering – these characters look REAL. Even the case it came in is cool – the DVD pops out of the top when you pull the index card down! The DVD will also include commentary and features on the 7 directors plus more. Did I forget to say the WHV people are wonderful? (Maybe they’ll send me a full copy to review… 🙂 (P.S. I’m experimenting with including the Amazon.com images…let me know if it is too much…)
SCI FI announces some new shows…
by Doc on Apr.02, 2003, under Television
Egads. I can’t even comment on some of these shows, but the SCI FI Channel has announced some new series, a couple of miniseries, and a bunch of reality shows (apparently they forget the “FI” stands for “fiction”…) Notable is the announcement of the long rumored spinoff Stargate: Atlantis, where the ruins of Atlantis prove to have been a base for the Ancients, who built the stargates, and a new team takes off for a “distant universe”.
