Mumy to reprise role in new Zone
by Doc on Jan.17, 2003, under Television
In an unusual sequel move, producers of UPN’s The Twilight Zone are going to film a sequel to the classic episode, “It’s a Good Life”, in which 6-year old Billy Mumy (Will Robinson in Lost in Space, Lennier in Babylon 5) had special powers (and was remade as a segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie in 1983). The sequel, entitled “It’s Still a Good Life”, will also star Mumy in the same character, now middle aged. Cloris Leachman will also reprise her role as his mother, and Mumy’s daughter Liliana (Lucy in The Santa Clause 2) will play his daughter with similar powers.

Hammer says why Farscape was cancelled
by Doc on Jan.10, 2003, under Television
Bonnie Hammer, president of the SCI FI Channel, in an interview with TV Guide Online, stated why Farscape was cancelled – it was pure numbers, not because of Stargate SG-1. Farscape‘s costs were increasing, and the numbers dwindling, and in repeats it was getting less that half SG-1‘s numbers – which were hitting 1.8. New episodes of both air tomorrow night.
A little bit of this….
by Doc on Jan.09, 2003, under General News
Just a quick rundown of some news items – looks like Warner Home Video is looking to release the second season of Babylon 5 at the end of April – more news (amd Amazon links) when available; I tried to avoid posting it, having heard it days ago and given the Dumbledore flap, but Gary Oldman is in talks to play Sirius Black for the next two Potter films; Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune is set for March 16th on SFC; and Ursula K. LeGuin is named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association.
