SCI FI to start showing SG-1 from beginning

According to GateWorld the SCI FI Channel will begin airing the first 4 seasons of Stargate SG-1 starting Monday, September 30th, starting with a 4-hour marathon starting at 7pm,. Also, on Friday, September 27th there will be a marathon of 5 season six episodes starting at 6pm. In fact, for all Fridays in September SFC will air two season six episodes, temporarily taking the Farscape time slot. The last new episode on the schedule, “Prometheus”, is set to air on August 23rd, with the remainder of the 6th season to air probably after the first of the year.
Clones DVD will include deleted scenes

At Comic-Con, Lucasfilm spokesman Steve Sansweet told an audience that the upcoming DVD of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones will include 8 deleted scenes. The scenes will be separated from the feature, not edited in. Also, the revolutionary digital version of the film will be used, which should make the video quality better than anything we’ve seen before.
Singer speaks of X2 mutants

Big DVD release date tomorrow

August 6th marks the release of several long-anticipated DVDs, including The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring (both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director’s Edition, V – The Final Battle, and two new Who entries, Tomb of the Cybermen and Ark in Space.

Looks like the University of Calgary might be a popular place to study the fine literature of Science Fiction. It seems a huge donation of some 35,000 volumes has been made to the University from the estate of William Gibson (not the cyberpunk author), with stuff ranging from Jules Verne, to pulp comics, to more recent works. It is believed this is one of the largest collections in the world.
Babylon 5 First Season Box Set finally listed on Amazon

At last!! Amazon.com has finally listed the Babylon 5 Season 1 Box Set! It is currently scheduled for release on Nov. 5th, for $74.99 – but beware, other box sets have gone up in price closer to release, so you might want to order early!
DVD for Clones set for November 12th

So much for not getting the DVDs until its all over. Cinescape is reporting that the Star Wars: Attack of the Clones DVD will be released November 12th. Jim Ward, vice president of marketing for Lucasfilm, says “the film looks amazing on DVD.” It should, since it won’t require analog-to-digital conversion…
X2 packed with mutants

MTV.com is reporting that X2, the sequel to X-Men, is just full of new mutants – some we’ve already reported. But here is a list: Colossus (played by Daniel Cudmore), Jubilee (Kea Wong), Kitty Pryde (Katie Stuart), Siryn (Shauna Kain), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), Beast (just a cameo, probably CGI) and Gambit (Unknown). They also confirm that Toad and Sabretooth will not return.
Pitch Black Sequels

dugh writes “It looks like Vin Deisel is hinting that there will be sequels to the great movie, Pitch Black. Of course what they could be about… who knows?” We already know about the first sequel, The Chronicles of Riddick. Apparently director David Twohy is planning ahead…
Hypercube will be a direct-to-video release?

I’m pretty sure I’ve reported on the sequel to the sleeper hit Cube titled Cube 2: Hypercube, but a search doesn’t turn up anything. Anyways, Dark Horizons is reporting that it will be released in April 2003 – and apparently it is a direct-to-video release.
