Shanks will appear in one episode in 6th Season

SCI FI Channel has confirmed that Michael Shanks, who is departing Stargate SG-1 ad the end of the current season, will make at least one appearance in an episode of the 6th Season, entitled “Abyss”. The 5th Season is currently running on Showtime, and then it will move to the SCI FI Channel in June.
Clones trailer to debut on Fox

In a break with tradition, the trailer for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones will not appear in theaters first – instead, it will debut on the Fox network between Malcolm in the Middle and The X-Files on March 10th. It will then be attached to Fox’s CGI movie Ice Age starting on March 15th.
New actor rumor for Doctor Who

The Beeb hasn’t even said they are doing this, but British newspaper The Guardian is reporting that brit comedian Ken Dodd (Alice in Wonderland) is the latest rumor to play the Doctor in a BBC-produced film. Neither the BBC or the actor have confirmed this.
Update:: Gallifrey One is stating plainly that this rumor is false. It was, after all, just a rumor .

Advanced premiere of Episode II to benefit children

Lucasfilm has announced an advanced screening of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones on May 12th in 11 U.S. and Canadian cities, with portions of the proceeds to benefit a local children’s charity. Cities include Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Toronto, Ont.; and Washington, DC.
Jeremiah starts this Sunday…

Just a reminder…Jeremiah has its two-hour premiere this Sunday (3/3) at 8pm on Showtime, and then will fall into its regular slot the following Friday at 10:45pm. Plan is to run all the episodes, in order, no breaks. Also, Stargate SG-1 picks up with new episodes on the same Friday at 10:00pm.
Battlefield Earth sequel? Not for the star…

John Travolta says there is a sequel to Battlefield Earth in the works – why I don’t know. But star Barry Pepper (Jonnie Goodboy Tyler) doesn’t think it will happen, and isn’t interested in it if it is.

Looney Tunes Chuck Jones, 1912-2002

I know this is late – it’s been everywhere in the media already, but its worth posting. The animator that gave us some of our most fondest cartoon memories (who could foget Duck Dodgers in the 24th-and-a-half Century?) passed away on Feb. 22nd from Congestive Heart Failure at his home at the age of 89. In addition to drawing the Looney Tunes characters, he received a Lifetime Achievement Oscar in 1996, and even wrote the screenplay for the original animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
