Upcoming fourth season will be last for Beauty And The Beast
by Doc on Oct.13, 2015, under Television
Season four of The CW’s Beauty And The Beast, which is nearing the end of production, will be its last, after the network decided that it should wrap up.
The remake of the 1987 TV series, it was always considered a long-shot at getting renewed each season, it eked out another year at a time by holding relatively steady ratings (0.2 Live+Same Day in the 18-49 group) and being pretty good on the international market as well as online.
The CW hasn’t announced when the fourth season will air yet.

NBC cancels Awake; ABC likely to pass on Beauty & The Beast
by Doc on May.11, 2012, under Television
NBC decided to drop what’s left of it’s bubble shows and pilots that it hadn’t already picked up, and that included freshman drama Awake, which failed in the ratings but did come on strong at the end.
Also, the previously mentioned ABC Beauty & The Beast pilot appears unlikely to get a pickup. This is different that the CW version starring Smallville‘s Kristin Kreuk, which is more of a remake of the 1980s series, which is still in contention.
Two Beauty and the Beast pilots get their leads
by Doc on Mar.02, 2012, under Television
The CW has cast the two leads for it’s loose remake of the 1980s modern romantic take on the Beauty and the Beast tale, with Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) playing the Beauty part to Jay Ryan’s (Go Girls, Terra Nova) Beast. In this version, Catherine is a NYPD homicide detective, who nine years previously witnessed her mother’s murder, and then the killer’s death at the hands of the Beast, and who has been searching for the Beast since.
I only learned today that ABC also has a Beauty And The Beast pilot in the works and has named their leads, but this one is keeping more to the fantasy roots. Irish actress Ruth Bradley (Primeval) plays Grace, a princess who finds she has a connection to a mysterious beast Shiro, played by Scottish singer Darius Campbell.
