Merlin: The Complete Third Season DVD review

[sfs=1188]Merlin: The Complete Third Season[/sfs] was released on DVD by BBC this past week, just as the fourth series picks up on Syfy. The third series picks up a year after Morgana disappeared and the Great Dragon had ravaged Camelot before Merlin’s newly gained Dragonlord powers stopped him. Morgana’s disappearance has left Uther distraught while all his forces look for her. She is found, and appears to even forgive Merlin – but her schemes have not changed, and if anything, are more daring as she attempts to take the throne for herself with the help of Morgause (who we see more in this series). In the meantime, Arthur sees more in Gwen, which could be dangerous for her, while Lancelot returns and we are introduced to Gwaine, Percival, and Elyan (Gwen’s brother) who become Knights of Camelot. Throughout the season, we see Morgana and Morgause plot and scheme to take over Camelot, but others also have plans to murder Uther and take the crown.

Merlin preview: “The Wicked Day”

In this week’s Merlin, it’s Prince Arthur’s birthday and the town is celebrating with dancers, jugglers and acrobats to entertain the Arthur but he’s not easily impressed. Back in the staging area, we see two circus jugglers discuss their recent delivery of knives which suggests that it might be used for more than just entertainment. Tune in this Friday at 10/9c on Syfy to see if an assassin’s attack on Arthur’s birthday casts the kingdom into chaos.

Merlin preview: “The Darkest Hour Part 2”

In “The Darkest Hour Part II” sneak peek, we see Arthur speaking with his men and making plans to retreat back to Gaius to treat a dying Merlin, though his men urge him that if he does not get to the Isle of the Blessed then many more with die. Lancelot volunteers to take him alone and Arthur has a discerning look once he mentions he’ll make his was to Camelot through the Valley of the Fallen Kings but reluctantly agrees. Merlin preview: “The Darkest Hour – Part 1”

Merlin returns next Friday, January 6th on Syfy! In this preview, qw Merlin struggling with his magic and finds himself being attacked by a mysterious skeletal ghost though luckily, one of Arthur’s men was able to ward it off by waving fire before him. Quickly, Arthur and his men come running behind and urges everyone to retreat to a safer place. Next, we see the mayhem back at the castle and we witness the ghost taking the life of a guard leaving Guenevere fearful and terrified. Tune-in to the Season Premiere of Merlin on Friday, January 6th to find out of Merlin can regain his powers to destroy the evil demon.
