More cast announced for Syfy’s Rewind

by on Apr.17, 2012, under Television

A bit of old news, but I just discovered this article didn’t publish: Deadline is reporting 4 more actors have been signed for Syfy’s upcoming Rewind pilot: Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith) as Priya, an “a-typical” historian and behavioral anthropologist; Jennifer Ferrin (The Cape, Sex and the City 2) as Bryce, an obsessive, overachieving scientist who graduated MIT at 18 and isn’t concerned with other people’s perceptions of her; Robbie Jones (Hellcats, One Tree Hill) as Danny, the trusted friend of Henry Knox (played by Shane McRae); and Keon Mohajeri (Circumstance) as Charlie, a mathematician who can reduce history to mathematics with his own patented technology.

Rewind is described as a thriller that revolves around a team of military field operatives and civilian scientists who must use untested technology to travel back in time to alter past events in order to change the future and avoid a devastating terrorist attack. Justin Marks wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Tom Spezialy, Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein. BermanBraun and Universal Cable Productions also produce Syfy’s original hit series Alphas, currently entering its second season.

Check out the gameplay teaser for Defiance

by on Apr.10, 2012, under Games, Television

Check out this teaser video for the upcoming multimedia production from Syfy and Trion Worlds, Defiance. Not only will this be an MMO shooter, but a TV series in which events will cross over.

Set in the near future, Defiance introduces players and viewers to a completely transformed planet Earth, inhabited by the disparate survivors of a universal war who endeavor to build a new society among the devastation. The game combines the intense action of a “AAA” console shooter, with the persistence, scale, and customization of an MMO, while its TV counterpart weaves the rich tapestry of the world into a series with the scope, characters, and drama of a classic sci-fi epic. Because they exist in a single universe, the show and the game will influence each other and evolve together over time, with actions in both mediums driving the overall story of Defiance.
