The 2011 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced today, and it looks like cable TV is the big winner this year. Read on for a list of the genre shows and their nominations.
NBC announced earlier that the presumed final episode of The Cape would be screened online, with no plans to air it on television. The episode, “Endgame”, is now available online, and you can watch it right here!
So, if NBC cutting the episode order to 10 wasn’t enough to convince you that The Cape will not return next season, perhaps this will: The final episode, which did not air as originally expected on Monday, will probably never be shown on TV, but rather appear as an online exclusive.
It was thought that they’d close out the show with a double episode, when NBC pushed back The Event and extra week. But that would have meant a two-week layoff for Chuck (which seems to always be uncomfortably close to the bubble), and when the time came there was Chuck, and only one episode of The Cape. NBC says they are “prepping an exclusive episode for online fans”…
NBC’s comic-inspired super hero story The Cape, which stars David Lyons, saw record low ratings Monday with a 1.5/4 rating, down 6% from the previous week and from the 5.0/8 achieved during the premiere. With that, NBC announced late yesterday that they are cutting the episode order from the planned 13 episodes to 10. Given they are just finishing up the 10th episode, this pulls the plug on the production and, unless there is an amazing resurgence, the show overall.
